Graduate Computer Lab
The Graduate School of Science offers restricted access to a 25 seat PC computer lab (Room 111). Wireless access is
also available for students who wish to use their own laptop.
Computer lab rules
- No Food or Drink
- No Playing Music
- No playing games
- No leaving workstation unattended
- No sending spam mail
Students caught breaking these rules risk having their account suspended.
How to print from the computer lab
Students can print to the UniCard printers in the ICT building on levels 1 & 2. This is a temporary arrangement pending
installation of a Unicard printer in the Alan Gilbert Building, hopefully later this year.
Install a printer:
- Click the 'Start' menu then 'Settings' and click on 'Printers'
- Double click the 'Add Printer' icon and click 'Next'
- In the 'Add Printer Wizard' pop up box make sure that 'Network Printer' has been checked
- Click 'Next'
- Click on the 'Connect to printer' option
- Type in \\uni03\ICT-PC as the 'Name' and then click 'Next'
- Select 'Yes' to set the printer as 'Default' and click 'Next'
- Click 'Finish'
Print quota
Students will need to purchase a Unicard print card or have your student card credited with sufficient Print Quota.

Computer lab help desk
The Graduate School of Science Computer Lab is managed by the Department of Information Systems. Report any computer
problems to the help desk.
When submitting an e-mail to the help desk please make sure you include your user name and a detailed description of the
problem you are having.
